No. I can tell you however that since Americans consume so much animal products they waste tons and tons of water. If everybody in America switched to vegetarianism/ veganism, water problems would be non existant. You can’t forget that all the manure runoff into the waters is also water waste. One of the most pleasant ways to enjoy the parade is watching the boats glide by your restaurant window as you dine in warmth and comfort. Most waterfront restaurants take reservations months in advance (add the reservation number to your road trip planner and print out the itinerary and keep a copy in the car). For those laden with blankets and chairs, the goal is to park as close to the waterfront as possible and stake out a spot early. Traffic increases significantly as parade time approaches so sometimes the best choice is to “park & walk”, especially if you’re going on a road trip that takes you more than four hours from home and you’re not familiar with the side-streets.
* DANA POINT – BOAT PARADE OF LIGHTS – Dana Point is a delightful harbor city. Clean and picturesque, there are a number of nice, waterfront restaurants to enjoy before strolling out to the harbor to watch the flotilla of lights. DATES: December 5-6 and 12-13, 7:30 p.m. FAMILY BONUS: Enjoy a breakfast with Santa at the Jolly Roger Restaurant on December 13th.
* LONG BEACH PARADE OF 1000 LIGHTS in the Downtown Shoreline Marina. Some of the best views can be found along the boardwalk at Shoreline Village. Most of the parking in and around this area will be paid parking. DATES: December 13, 2008, 7 p.m. BONUS TIP: Make Long Beach the center of your road trip planning because there are lots of other cool water-themed activities you can enjoy like hopping aboard the Queen Mary or visiting the Aquarium of the Pacific.
* LOS ANGELES HARBOR HOLIDAY AFLOAT PARADE – This parade displays the boats as they cruise along the Port of Los Angeles main channel. You can view the boats from a number of locations like the Banning Landing Community Center or the Port of Los Angeles Cruise Ship Promenade on Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro. Another popular viewing spot is at the Ports O’ Call Village at 1100 Nagoya Way in San Pedro as well as the Cabrillo Marina at 200 Whaler’s Walk, also in San Pedro. DATES: December 6, 2008, 6-7:30 p.m. BONUS TIP: Consider staying at the Hilton Port of Los Angeles/San Pedro because it’s only a ¼ mile stroll from the hotel to the Cabrillo Marina.
* MARINA DEL REY BOAT PARADE – The nearby Fisherman’s Village is an excellent viewing spot for this parade. Include fireworks and boat judging. Click here to see last year’s winners. DATES: December 13th. * NEWPORT BEACH CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE – This annual Christmas event is one to definitely add to your road trip planner. Join nearly one million other spectators as you watch beautifully decorated yachts, boats, kayaks, and canoes sail along Newport Harbor. People from as far as Arizona and San Francisco have been known to make the trip to partake in this holiday custom. Viewing is free, provided you can find a vantage point. DATES: December 17 – December 21, 2008, celebrating its 100th year! The parade starts off Bay Island at 6:30 p.m. and finishes at the same site at approximately 9:00 p.m. each evening. Fireworks will start at 6:25 p.m. from the Balboa Pier just before the start of the parade at 6:30 p.m.

Why Can’t I lose Weight?
Hello Everyone! I am 25 and All my life I have never weighed more that 160lbs 5’4″…I had my daughter 4 years ago and I went from 156lbs- 225lbs during pregnancy; after i had her I lost all the weight almost, I had got down to 172 wearing a size 8…I moved to california in 2008 and gained every pound back almost..now I weigh 210 
I have tried every type of weight loss pill there is, slim fast, fasting, only eating baked foods(fish, poultry and lean beef), vegetables and fruits, i drink atleast 32oz of water a day..I have tried working out 30-60mins of cardio each day and that didn’t work…my stomach started to tighten up but i have lost no weight.. nothing is working can someone help me! My blood is being tested for thyroids and diabetes, i have fibroids on my uterus, i have not had a menstral in over a year, and i was on birth control for 4 consecutive years up until 5 months ago.
Despite what the commercials try to tell you, weight gain (or weight loss) is simply the difference between calories consumed and calories expended. It is easier to reduce calorie intake by eating less calories than to burn it off through exercise, but you need both (it also tones you up).
Whether a calorie is a potato chip or a soyburger makes no difference to weight loss. A calorie is a calorie is a calorie.
However, a calorie full of good vitamins is better for your body overall then empty calories.
One reason diets do not work is that you will never keep depriving yourself of calores. Also, if you eat too few calories, your metablism slows down substantially. Thus, while you consume far too calories, you also burn fewer calories doing the same task.
Some things to think about:
a. Eat a breakfast. It gets your metabolism going and tells your body that you will be getting food all day, so that you will burn more calores. This is important.
b. Exercise. This speeds your metabolsim. So, while you only burn 150 calories running a mile, a mile walk or run will speed your metablism so you burn an additional 150 calories per day doing normal tasks.
c. Stop with the weight loss pills. They do not work.
d. Join weight watchers or another group to support you. One good thing about WW is they teach you to record everything you eat. Those little thins add up.
You can do this. But remember one thing … it took you years to gain the weight. Do not try to lose it all at once. If you can lose just 1.5 pounds per month, you will lose 18 pounds a year. This is doable, for you will not feel like you need to cut out everything in food that you enjoy.
You can do this. But it is entirely up to you.
