how the tardigrades can be cultivated?
Tardigrades are water bears
First you have to find them. They are very easy to
find in some places and difficult in others. They
are often found in clumps of moss, liverwort or
lichen. I have succeeded in culturing them in
shallow glass dishes in aquatic fungus cultures.
Put some water from a natural habitat in the dish
with some pieces of dead leaf or twig, and a couple of sesame seeds. Aquatic fungi will grow
on the sesame seed and provide food for other
organisms in the culture. One such culture I made
from leaf litter in Arizona mountains produced
hundreds of tardigrades. Add the tardigrades to
the culture after the fungus begins to grow.

Can tardigrades (water bears ") is located in Southern California?
I live in an urban area of Southern California. I visited websites on tardigrades (water bears), and although they say that tardigrades can be found worldwide, they say that you specify. If I had to pick a little foam on my local San Gabriel Mountains, which I find tardigrades? What if I had a bit of wetland / foam my yard? Has anyone heard of someone in the San Gabriel Valley tardigrades found?
I had exactly the same problem. Seen in places that can not find them. Abandoned. It was years. If I were to look today, perhaps in the recreation area Hahamongna after a good rain. I saw some interesting looking globular in water, but he was too lazy to take a sample and place it under a microscope. Probably, water mites. Basically, get a place that is a puddle of the year … something like a pool of spring but Triops eating anything smaller.
