7 weeks pregnant and just saw my tiny tiny tiny little baby?
Hey guys am very happy to say I saw my little baby bean and heartbeat this morning via ultrasound. They wanted to check it out as I had some brown spotting and abdominal pain which turns out to be a water infection (I was convinced it meant the baby hadnt developed and died or it was just an empty sack). Anyway they said they wouldnt speak to me for a while whilst they do it but not to worry but as soon as they began the scan they immediately saw the baby and heartbeat and told me and said everything seemed fine and strong. I just wanted to ask, being a neurotic first time mother to be, does this mean that my chances of miscarrying are slightly reduced now? I know it can still happen and often does but I just wondered if anyone knew the facts/statistics?

PS Just thought I had read somewhere then once you get a strong heartbeat at ultrasound it means your risks are reduced but not sure if this was after 8 weeks ….
Thats great news and a really great sign. The chances are sort of reduced as most happen before a heart starts beating. But they can happen at anytime.I miscarried my 1st and read a miscarriage association book that says the chances are about 25% till 13 weeks then 5% till 15 weeks and then 1%. But i think things like seeing a heartbeat ect can change these stats. Youll always find someone on here that had a loss after seeing a heartbeat. But this is your 1st so dont worry about this. Im 24 weeks now and have worried for 20 weeks and still do. I think to a point it has ruined my pregnancy when this should be a magical time. Congrats

The most polluting and busiest ports in the world include Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai with the biggest health threat in the world. Such pollution facts should make us think about the future of maritime trade and transportation.
Power plants
To generate electricity, Power plants are becoming more and more popular. The bad thing about it is that it causes about three thousand lung cancer cases and over thirty-five thousand heart attacks only in the USA on a yearly basis. Moreover, the same statistics indicate that pollution facts are even more serious in the under-developed areas of the globe where the industrial and the private sectors do not apply consistent environment protection rules.
Air and water contamination
Some very important pollution facts refer to the close connection between air and water contaminants; thus the chemicals in the water evaporate and fall back on the ground under the form of acid rains. Rainwater is not treated like the one in the sewers and the pollutants are merely changing their aggregation state while still remaining present in the atmosphere or the water.
Soap
If you like to wash your car at home, chances are that the soap that you are using will pollute and destroy the chemical balance of an ecosystem. At the car-wash the waste water will be sent to the sewer and will eventually undergo some treatment before being released in the river, lake or ocean. The water from your back yard will not get this treatment and will release into the ground with all the gas residues and detergent in it.
Animals
Last but not least, animals can pollute too. Livestock that has access to a stream will carry potential and unwanted harmful bacteria to the water, not to mention that the water that runs over fields and pastures could very well bring fertilizers into the streams as well as in the underground water sources.
