The beaches surround me on the island of Crete, Greece. Its so laid back here and relaxing. There’s no rushing, people here take naps daily, but before thier nap they all have a big lunch. Wherever you go the scenery is awesome, huge mountains and pretty beaches(the water is clear blue). There are many historical places like very old churches which are still being used. Also there is the limani (an ancient harbor also still in use) now there is seafood restaurants there with shops.
It has much potential.
1. Take yourself out of the story.
Example: “The crushed rock beaches surround the island of Crete like a frame around a picture of relaxation.”
2. Show the story, don’t tell the story. Don’t put me in the story, let me see it. “A glance in any direction is an awesome vision of natural beauty, whether it is snow-capped mountains on the horizon or clear blue water that disappears into the shore with every wave.”
3. Try very hard never to use parentheses. That implies whispering or something you don’t want other people to know. Say it out loud. Own it.
Also, write “They still use an ancient harbor, called a limani in Greek, lined with restaurants, offering fresh seafood and shops selling local art and curios allowing visitors a chance to take a memory of the slower yet exotic pace back home.”
If I have described something inaccurately, put in the correct adjectives.

Researchers believe that there is a definite connection between cancers of a particular kind, namely: rectal and breast cancer, and taking showers in chlorinated water. Why?
The reason is that drinking water with chlorine in it and inhaling the chemical vapors from chlorine seems to pose a health threat. But think about this, when we take a shower chlorine is absorbed by the skin. Our skin is the largest body organ. What you put on it can be absorbed right into the blood stream.

First, Why is Chlorine the Suspected Culprit?
During World War I chlorine gas was used as a chemical weapon. It irritants the respiratory system. When you turn on the shower or otherwise use hot water, the chlorine becomes vaporized. If you have asthma you may have noticed a difference in your breathing in the shower. Doctors are now recommending a whole house water filter that blocks chlorine. Whole house filters do more than that. I will cover what in another article on in my newsletter.
At this point you may be thinking that you have always heard chlorine in the water is beneficial.
That is true and it is false.
Why is it true that chlorine is useful? It is used by water treatment facilities to disinfect the water it sends to your home. But when the water is disinfected by chlorine it releases THMs and also chloroform gas. Certain government agencies have reported that chloroform gas has been found in most homes. The reason discovered was: taking showers in chlorinated water.
Dangers of Chloroform Gas
Chloroform gas exposure can cause headaches, dizziness and fatique. Also if exposure is over a long period of time, possible damage to the kidneys and liver can happen.
How Can Chlorine Be Removed Effectively
A whole house filter is the answer to the above dangers. If you don’t have one then would it not be wise to get one yesterday?
Now do not make the mistake of getting a reverse osmosis filter. This is another subject but RO is not for the typical in-home water filter system. I will also cover this in my newsletter. But quickly RO will not block chlorine.
It is crucial that you get the right whole house filter system because some don’t block THMs which is a by-product of chlorine. I have found only one such manufacturer that has a filter that protects against most if not all of the contaminants found in water.
We often hear about the big “C” and what we should do to protect ourselves. Usually it is about the food we eat and to get regular exercise. What about the contaminants in the water? Do your research like I did and get the right whole house filter.

What are the laws with cutting down fauna and vegetation near florida canals?
I live in Florida and like to kayak the canals here. The housing community I live in released a long newsletter detailing several things that we need to fix. One of them is encroaching vegetation in the canals. Some canals you can tell used to be very open; now I can barely get through them in a one man kayak, and if you are in a boat you can forget about it. Branches extend out over the water. Can I cut them back with a machete?
Be very careful with this. Go to the local rules board and get the written bylaws about such things. Local vegetation is categorized differently in different places in Florida. My folks bought a condo on a canal with boat access and even a dock. But they bought it before it was completed as is often the case. By the time the complex was done and they moved in, years later, the flora had essentially taken over. So my Dad being the go too guy he was did exactly what you suggested. Using a chain saw he hacked clear his dock and well maybe a bit more. Had a nice place for his boat, nice view for Mom and the neighbors, and a nearly $8000 fine from the local constabulary. Seems you can only cut certain plants at certain times. Seems you can NOT cut certain plants at ALL. Seems you need a license to cut anything. Seems he broke a lot of laws. The fine was reduced after the judge gave him the “you people from the north think you can just come down here and do what you want” speech. He definitely learned the lesson and became an advocate for the river through their community. Learn what you need to learn and carefully apply the knowledge. Best of luck.
