Pharmaceutical Industry during/after World War III or 2012?

What whould happen to the Pharmaceutical Industry, especially someone who has M.S. in Pharmaceutical Engineering if there is a World War, or somekind of Economic Collapse like that predicted around 2012(which I don’d believe, but what if?)? Will I be able to find a good paying job or will the World or U.S. not care for pharmaceuticals during a certain crisis like lack of general resources like food and water?
I would appreciate specific answers

The question is non-sequitor knowing that WWIII will be nuclear. How could it not, by definition, two super powers in all out war fighting for their survival.

Unfortunately, WWIII will be global suicide, therefore in answer to your question, as long as there’s rational superpowers who believe in MAD, there will be no WW3. By definition, the next world war wil be nuclear, how could it not. In a nuclear war there will be no winner. In a nuclear world, the only true enemy is war itself.

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not if both sides believe no price for victory will be too high. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask what will the pharmaceutical Industry be like post WWWIII, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won’t happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

While we hear talk of a nuclear-Iran or a confrontation with NorKor, little is said about the 2 bulls in the glass shop. The arsenals of Russia and the US are enough to destroy a million Hiroshimas. But there are fewer than 3000 cities on the Earth with populations of 100,000 or more. You cannot find anything like a million Hiroshimas to obliterate. Prime military and industrial targets that are far from cities are comparatively rare. Our biggest threat is from an accidental launch by the Russians.

At the point of global suicide, it doesn’t matter who is on what side….where you go to hide, or how long you can survive, or whether you’re in the pharmaceutical business or not. In a nuclear age like i said before, the only true enemy is war itself.

Drilling objectives
There is always a reason why holes are drilled within each of the industry sectors.  The reason for making a hole is called the drilling objective which consists of four important parts : statements, standards, conditions and checks.

The statements set out clearly what the objective is about.  It is important that the statements are clearly worded so they may be understood by the driller.  After all, he can not be expected to do a job unless he has a clear picture of what it is he’s expected to do.  For example, Drill an exploratory hole to produce data on the nature and position of the formations; and produce chip samples for laboratory testing.

Standards tell the driller the precise requirements for the drilling.  Certain standards will be required for every hole and they must be adhered to exactly.  They are a measurement of the work performed. Examples of standards are :

* The hole to be drilled must be drilled within a 1/2  meter (18in) of the peg

* The hole must be drilled to a depth of 100 meters  (300ft.)

* Minimum hole diameter is to be 125mm (5 in)

* The hole must be within 3 degrees of vertical throughout.

* The sample interval is to be every 1 meter (3ft.)

* Drilling logs must record changes of formation within 0.2 meters (8 in) of correct    position.

The conditions provide the frame of reference for the work.  They describe how, when and where the standards apply.  Conditions may describe access to site or weather conditions and their affect on the drill site or hours of work.  Conditions could comprise the following :

which Civil Engineering Specialization to take and why?

hi guys, im taking CE now, but i have to choose a specialization.
1. Structural Engineering
2. Construction Technology Management
3. Transportation Engineering
4. Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering?

It all depends on what your interests are and what is needed. The reality of things is, except in very rare cases, everything is so specialized that you have to pick an area and go with it. For example Structural may seem like the most broad category with the greatest range of opportunities since almost all infrastructure is expected to take a mix of dead, live and dynamic loads.

The reality is that, at the level of experts who actually know what they are doing, they specialize in areas like reinforced concrete, skyscrapers, bridges, dams, ect. These categories break down into their own specializations like bridges breaking down into causeways, suspension, cable stay, etc. There are even some that specialize in making retractable roofs in stadiums. However, the lower level engineers are the ones who can easily switch between different areas.

There’s also the factor of whether you prefer to be in an office and design or get out into the field and build/maintain it. The office is comfortable and allows you to create what will be built. For others this is too boring and they want to get out into the field and be close to the hard work, noise and dust where it is actually being built. I personally prefer to mix the two, designing in the office and doing inspections on the construction site.

There’s also the crucial factor of what’s in demand in your country. I don’t know what is in demand in the Philippines, my guess is that replacing/upgrading old bridges, dams and roads are big business. My area in the United States is designing energy efficient/high performance buildings and retrofitting old ones to improve their performance. However this recession, with its drastically reduced energy prices, has left me unemployed with way too much spare time to waste on things like Yahoo Answers.

When it comes to choosing do something that you like to do. If you choose something based only on salary(big mistake) you’ll most likely end up doing something you hate. If you do something you like the salary may be lower at first, but you’re more likely to excel, become and expert and get promoted and get better pay in the long run. I like what I do and did well at it until the whole company went under. Just don’t go into an area with ridiculous amounts of competition, then you’ll be overworked and underpaid, unless you really want to succeed there then go for it.
