How to test the purity of water when you’re in a FOREST with limited equipments?
The problem with answering the question is this: I don’t know what you mean by limited equipment. That could mean any number of things.
Also, purity of water is tricky to define: if any substance whatsoever is in the water, then the water is impure, and you couldn’t possibly test for ALL possible contaminants.
The only measures you can take are filtering the water and boiling the water, primitive techniques that are exceptionally useful and can be done with ‘forest equipment’.

Dependent on the filter the only reason for a bubbler/air stone is to disturb the surface area to maximize gaseous exchanges. so if the filter does this adding and air stone is for effect only.
