Rapid Safe Weight Loss – Is It Reallly Possible?

Nowadays, we’re all about instant gratification. We want what we want, and we want it now. This is also true when it comes to weight loss. But is rapid safe weight loss really possible?

It depends on your definition of the word “rapid.” For one thing, rapid weight loss will get you nowhere if you gain everything you lost, plus more. Your goal in losing weight should be to keep the weight off, not just to lose it.

1. Eat Properly

4. Exercise Right

To achieve rapid safe weight loss, use resistance training to increase the ratio of muscle to fat tissue. Muscle burns fat even when you’re not active. Cardio exercise is fine, but it won’t make you lose fat fast. Cardio exercise does burn calories while you’re exercising, and keeps your metabolism elevated for a little while after exercise, but this is really just a short-term effect. Building muscle tissue will provide you with a lasting solution to the metabolic doldrums and keep your body burning calories all day long.

If you follow these simple principles, you can achieve rapid safe weight loss. If you are very out of shape, you’ll find that you see results in just a week or two. The closer you get to your ideal weight, the harder you’ll have to work to achieve fat loss. thus the max height that capillary action can draw water is

h = 2T/(ro*r*g)

where T is the surface tension of water, about 0.072 Newtwons/meter, and ro is the density of water. Thus, you’re looking at a max height well below 100 feet for any manageable capillary radius. (i.e. they can’t go smaller than the cellular structure of the fiber.)

But using a heat/condensation gradient, there is no problem on drawing the water up from that depth, assuming you can prevent evaporation from the length of the cord. You’ll have to sheath it.

The hand-waving approach to this is to look at the solar radiant flux on the tip of the cord, and then relate that to the potential necessary to draw a given mass of water up a given height. Obviously, increasing the radiant flux by flaying the ends of the cord will help.

This is part of the reason that trees have leaves. It isn’t just to capture more air, it’s also to increase the evaporation gradient to draw water up from the roots.
