Please help! Cleaners to remove sticky stuff from packaging tape?
Okay, so the part where you put your wrists when you’re typing (i dunno what you call it) broke off, so i stuck it back on w/ packaging tape, and so then it ‘melted’ so i took it off. it left this sticky residue on the wrist thing and i’ve tried getting it off with baking soda, water, and a wet one thing, but it’s still sticky! what should i do? would vinegar work?
And also some non-toxic home remedies would be great

Useful Hardwood Flooring Cleaning Tips

But you need to use the nail polish remover or Vinegar with splash of water on a cloth to remove some tough blemishes like ink, oil, paint or cigarette makes. Remember to keep away your floor from the liquids. Once a while, it also requires the refinishing.
It is not a good idea to wet the floor or mop your floor with soaps, detergent, girasol or such things. They get sticky when dried and hence, it draws more dirt that repel. Also it leaves a residue that creates problems at the time of heavy cleaning or refinishing. These sustains can clean finish but it also destroys your wood.
Protecting Your Floors:
Your wooden floor can be damaged and discolored through direct sunlight. The sunlight will soften the tone of different species of hardwood to varying degrees. If possible, try to use sheer curtains. If you are going out for long period of time then pull close the curtain. Use good quality of mats and rugs to prevent dirt, sand, etc to settle in. Always lift the heavy stuff or use the rollers or load bearing legs and floor protector to avoid the scratching which also damages the floor and its finish permanently. Once in a blue moon, you should rearrange furniture, mats and rugs to make the floor ages evenly.
Make sure that you avoid walking with stiletto-style heels, spiked golf shoes or cleats or any sharp objects; as they might cause notches on your hardwood. Keep you pet’s nails spick and span.
Repairing:
It can be easily taken care of minor damages with the help of finishing putty available in matching colors. While for the major damages, your hardwood flooring dealer will refer you to the professional who will replace the entire area with new flooring or replace individual boards.

help! i have these little ‘fruit’ flies from my house plants. if i put black pepper on the soil will that help
i have all these ‘little’ fruit flies that are coming from the many house plants I have. i have tried the fly sticky hanging stuff ; putting water( and also with vinegar) into tin foil pans; spraying directly on the soil ant etc killer and also spraying with flying insect killer; i try not to keep the plants too wet and i remove all dead leaves; i don’t leave food out and i constantly am wiping dry all sinks etc Someone told me that shaking black pepper on the soil of each plant will get rid of them. My question is: Did you ever hear of this solution? These flies are attracted to light, water and especially greens but they are not so particular..they eat all. It really gets bad at night when I sit by the computer ..they are attracted to the monitor light..and my eyes I guess too..SO THEY ATTACK ..mainly they ATTACK MY EYES and my face. (like little monsters from outter space) HELP! p.s., my husband is ready to throw me and the plants out.
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass, fill it with 1/2 ” of Apple Cider Vinegar & 2 drops of dish washing liquid. Mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the glass & gone forever.
